Special Treat for a Special Feat.

Last night (I can hardly believe it), the big girls stayed in their own beds ALL night.  I mean, I didn't have to get up even once during the night to go in their bedroom, and we didn't see them again until 6 this morning when we got up for good.  That's HUGE.  This mom was ready to celebrate!  Do you want ice cream?  Candy?  A pony? You want to build sand castles at the beach?  Fly to the moon?  Girls, I'll give you the world if you'll only let me get some much needed beauty sleep.  Genesis is in town, so she went with us to enjoy a special treat.  She was really hoping I didn't catch her with a mouth full of Mint N Chip.

Happy Easter (a little late!)

Easter was such a blast this year!  I'll admit I was a little sad to break the tradition of hosting it at our house, but the other Downey's definitely have the ideal location for an egg hunt.  We started off the day by opening the baskets and heading up to Sunday School.  Talullah was sick, but I just couldn't bear the thought of having her miss the party!  After church we headed to Nate and Dallass' house for a BBQ and Egg Hunt.  There were so many kids and hundreds and hundreds of eggs hidden in the grass.  And bushes.  And trees.  They were EVERYWHERE!  Each kid finished the hunt with an entire basket full of treat filled eggs.  I'm weeks late posting these pictures, and we are still feasting off the sweats from Easter!  The bubble guns I put in the girls baskets were a big hit at our house.  It was so cute watching the three little ones try to catch floating bubbles.  The big chalk, on the other hand... complete disaster.  There was chalk on the chalk board, and the carpet, and the couch, and their dresses, and Nana's dress...

A breath of fresh air

It was nice outside.  At least, nice enough.  After an ongoing sickness that has made several rounds around our home, along with the sporatic rainy days of May, we just needed a breath of fresh air.  Nick took the bounce house out of the garage, and Talullah grabbed her bike.  Berlyn was thrilled to have her big sister chase her round, after round, after round in the driveway.

Proud Moment

This shouldn't be a big deal.  But it is.  I asked Talullah to go put away all of her stuff animals.  I came in to check on the the progress, and this was the result.  Honestly, a smile spread across my face and I puffed my chest out with pride as I called Nick to come take a look.  It didn't mean quite as much to him, but he understands my excitement.  Not only were those animals all tucked away in the correct compartment, the extras were arranged so nicely around the box.  So... organized!  Like mother, like daughter.  It makes a momma proud.

Passed out.

Precious Papa time for Havanna.  Nick and I had to run an errand and Papa volunteered (kind of) to watch all three girls for an hour.  When we came home, the big girls had wet hair from being in the hot tub and were already in their pj's.  Havanna was out cold on her Papa's shoulder.  What a guy!

The New Trail!

We went for a walk today on the new trail in Eureka.  It is a beautiful place to walk along the shoreline, with a paved path and picnic benches.  Unfortunately, the wind was atrocious this afternoon so we were not out long.  Since the cousins and Grandma Downey were with us, the girls would have gladly stayed there for much longer.  This momma does not like wind blown hair and runny noses.
